Chimica Techno Acta (CTA, https://chimicatechnoacta.ru) is a peer-reviewed, international open access journal publishing original and high-quality articles, reviews, and letters, covering all applied aspects of chemistry and materials science. CTA is dedicated to providing an exclusive platform that generates discussions among researchers, scientists, engineers, and technology developers around advances, current trends and challenges in chemical engineering, characterization and testing of functional materials in terms of their orientation towards industry and large-scale production.

The following aspects are of CTA's particular interest:

1. Design & engineering of new (metal-, ceramic-, organic-based) materials for applied purposes;
2. Deep characterization and testing of functional materials;
3. Lab-to-industry technology transferring for current chemical, metallurgy and energy demands.
4. Computational materials science and AI/ML techniques for high-throughput materials design and advanced processing.

The CTA journal uses a single blind peer review format. The average period from submission to first decision is 16 days based on our 2024 stats; the average period from submission to acceptance (in case of positive reviewers' feedback) is 39 days. The average acceptance rate is 38%, including preliminary decisions of Editors and opinions of Reviewers.

 CTA is a journal of the Ural University Press publisher which is a division of Ural Federal University (UrFU, https://urfu.ru/en/).

The CTA issues appear 4 times annually, since 2014 when the journal was founded by Prof. Yuri Morzherin and his colleagues.

In 2017-2021, Prof. Andrey Zuev had served as an Editor-in-Chief. The current Editor-in-Chief of CTA is Dr. Dmitry Medvedev.

The current article processing charge (APC) is fully covered by UrFU; therefore, no fees are required for the accepted manuscripts.

Since 2021, CTA is published in an electronic format only (within a period of 2014-2020, a print format was used along with the electronic one, with ISSN 2409-5613 (print)).
