Author Guidelines

Chimica Techno Acta's Editors are committed to publishing high quality novel papers which make a significant contribution within the scope of the journal. In order to achieve this goal and provide the best service to authors, submitted manuscripts must meet the basic criteria for publication in the journal.

The editorial office encourages the authors to check out the American Chemical Society's virtual special issue ‘Mastering the Art of Scientific Publication − Part II’, in which the ACS Editors offer the most important tips for preparing good chemical manuscripts.

Please note that all new submissions are accepted and published in English only.

Before you begin

Please see our information page to learn about the different policies of the journal (our focus and scope, section policies, and the full description of the peer review process). Make sure you understand our Code of Ethics, as the journal and its Editorial Board fully adhere to its principles and require authors to adhere to them as well.

A submission may be immediatly rejected by Editors without external review if the manuscript falls into one or more of the following categories:

  • the manuscript clearly falls outside the scope of the journal;
  • the work is of poor scientific quality such that it is clearly not suitable for publication in a scientific journal;
  • the novelty of the work falls below that required for the journal;
  • the quality of English iin the manuscript is so poor that the research results presented are unclear;
  • the manuscript does not comply with our Code of Ethics, e.g. if cases of academic mischief are found;
  • the manuscript has already been reviewed and rejected by the our journal, and the author(s) have made little or no attempt to address the previous recommendations of the Editor and/or referees.

Manuscript preparation

The manuscript should be prepared in MS Office (.doc, .docx) format according to the following template:

Article template 2025 (.docx)

All requirements regarding the structure and layout of the article, including guidelines for the formatting of figures, tables and references, can be found in the template file. Please do not use extensive formatting, as this does not help us in any way and may only hinder the work of our layout editors.

Manuscript submission

Once you have completed the registration process, you will be able to commence a new submission. The five-step process provided by the OJS publishing system is relatively straightforward and intuitive, and we will therefore limit our guidance to a few key points:

  • It is required that authors submit a brief cover letter (one or two paragraphs are typically sufficient) along with the manuscript. A cover letter must be addressed to the editors and must provide a rationale for the significance of the manuscript submitted. The authors may suggest several suitable reviewers, taking their expertise and ethical standards (no prior works or collaborations) into account. While such recommendations are often beneficial, they are not always followed, as editors have the discretion to assign reviewers based on their own criteria. A cover letter along with a list of reviewers must contain only plain text and must be entered into the 'Comments for the Editor' text field during the first step of the online submission process.

  • All required and optional metadata should be provided in English.

If for any reason you are unable to complete the online submission process as described above, you may send an email containing your manuscript and the cover letter to the journal's principal contact or Editor-in-Chief.

  10. If AI services, tools, or technologies are used, they must be clearly described in the 'Additional information' section of the template file, see here.
